There are many elements that set the Pendray Inn apart from other hotels in Victoria. Nothing is more enchanting, however, than the Pendray Tea House. With its rich wood accents, original stained glass windows, and antique furnishings, the Tea House encourages you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and to appreciate a little “me time” and the slower pace of times past. 

Guests of the Pendray Inn are treated to a complimentary gourmet breakfast in this historic setting, while all are welcome to indulge in the Pendray Tea House’s signature Victorian-style Afternoon Tea or its newly introduced Scottish High Tea, a hearty evening dining tradition reimagined with a modern twist.

Dedicated to sustainability, the Pendray Tea House proudly holds BC Green Business’s highest Green certification and Surfrider approval. As Canada’s first restaurant to achieve The PLEDGE on Food Waste Gold certification, we are committed to minimizing food waste and championing environmental stewardship in every aspect of our dining experience.

The Pendray Tea House is open seven days a week.

Breakfast: Open daily from 7:00am to 10:00am

Afternoon Tea: 
Monday - Friday: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm 
Saturday- Sunday: 11:00 am to 4:00 pm 

Scottish High Tea (starting January 24th): 
Friday - Sunday: 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Traditional Afternoon Tea: A Timeless Victorian Experience

What could be more quintessentially British than Afternoon Tea? By the late 19th century, the concept of an afternoon break with tea and snacks had evolved beyond a simple light meal into a cultural phenomenon, with members of Victorian high society donning their finest to take part in the ritual of socializing over tea and refreshments. ​

The Pendray Tea House offers a choice of delicious teas with an array of different flavours. From our ever popular Traditional Afternoon Tea to our Vegan Tea (pre-order only), all are offered with locally owned and organic Silk Road or Westholme Teas. All of our seafood products are 100%  Ocean Wise certified.

Scottish High Tea: A New Evening Tradition at Pendray Tea House

Discover the hearty elegance of Scottish High Tea, a new evening dining experience introduced at Pendray Tea House. Unlike the refined Afternoon Tea, traditionally associated with light bites and delicate flavours, Scottish High Tea originated as a robust evening meal for workers in Scotland and Northern England. It features a satisfying mix of savoury dishes, freshly baked scones, and seasonal sweets—all crafted with premium, locally sourced ingredients that showcase the best of our region.

Served Friday through Sunday from 5 PM to 8 PM, this unique dining service includes a British-inspired three-tiered selection alongside a small à la carte menu. To elevate your experience, indulge in a curated selection of classic cocktails with a Pendray twist, or pair your meal with locally brewed beers and ciders.

Set within the elegant ambiance of a restored 19th-century Victorian mansion, the Scottish High Tea offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to enjoy an evening of culinary excellence, history, and charm.
